Suit: (walking into studio) We’ve been shortlisted for *pitch name*!
Me: Of course! Was there ever any doubt??!
On hindsight, I’m not sure my statement sat well with my boss, who was just behind the suit. And I sounded, and really was feeling, very indignant that anyone would have thought otherwise.
Fuck it. I beat myself down too often where my aptitude for advertising is concerned, so when I know my concept has a fighting chance, when I really like what I did, I think I have a right to be a little cocky. HA!
Now to beat 3 more agencies…..
